Nature is the best inspiration:

Red-lipped Batfish:

Eucalyptus Deglupta:

The Eucalyptus deglupta tree, seen above, is an anomaly of nature. Different layers of the bark peel off and oxidize at different rates to produce, at the end, a deep purplish blue colour. The different layers are seen as a rainbow-patterned tree. Also known as the Rainbow gum tree, it is found in New Britain, New Guinea, Ceram, Sulawesi and  in the Philippines.

Socotra Island Trees

In the Indian ocean and about 30km from  Yemen, a third of the flora and fauna of Socotra Island are endemic. I would love to visit this place someday.

Fantastic paintings, I love the tree and am so delighted that you painted it so wonderfully.
